Student’s Interview Summary
The student shared that most math tests tend to be on the more difficult side which makes the subject challenging. They also mentioned that they enjoy the variety of topics taught by their teacher and find the lessons interesting. Overall, the student feels that math is generally not a favourite subject because of the challenging questions.​

Teacher’s Interview Summary
According to the teachers, they shared that the frequency of tests and quizzes depends on the unit, and homework is assigned daily. The class uses Michaelson textbooks, and students are encouraged to review important material rather than work before exams. New concepts are introduced every day, and group work may be included. Calculators are not required but can be useful and students are expected to use online tools such as Microsoft Teams. Major units in the course include polynomials, linear equations, rational numbers, exponent laws, similarity of shapes, an introduction to statistics, incomes, budgets, and interest.
